June 2010 Message

Brothers,

It has been great working with each of you this Columbian Year. I want to especially thank Fr. John, Ralph, Tom, Robert, Sam, and Steve for their service this year as our Chapter Officers. I also want to thank the DDs, the Chapter Committee Chairman, and all the Grand Knights for making this a great Columbian Year in San Jose. We set a high mark to be met next year, but I'm sure we can keep on improving.

It's that time of year for forms. The Annual Report KofC Round Table (2630), RSVP and Plaque Application (2863), Columbian Award Application (SP-7), and Report of Officers Chosen for Term (185) forms are all due in the coming weeks. Remember, for most of these forms, you need to send a copy to your DD and the State Office as well as Supreme. Many of these forms can be filled out and submitted through Supreme's website, www.kofc.org.

I've contacted the Supreme Advocate's office about the amendment to the Chapter Bylaws we sent to them for approval back in 2008, and have been informed the amendment has been approved. This won't be a big change for us, as we've been acting as though they had been approved for the last two years, but it's good to finally have the changes finalized.

We're holding our election of officers this month. It's important that the Chapter Secretary, Tom Schulte, have your council's list of delegates as soon as possible so there are no problems with knowing who can vote and who cannot. Each council in the chapter is allowed three delegates, including the Grand Knight, who can vote for the 2010-2011 Chapter Officers.
